Medical Mission TripsCOMM International conducts annual medical mission trips to the following countries: • Peru - January/February• Nigeria – May (TBD)• Guatemala - October 31 to November 8
The teams consist of US healthcare professionals, nonmedical volunteers, and local volunteers. We are hosted by International Christian organizations who demonstrate the love of God by working with both medical and nonmedical volunteers in the local areas to provide hope and healing to indigent communities. If you are interested in participating in a mission trip, for more information contact the church office of Crossroads Community Cathedral at 860-895-1231 and someone will return your call.
ApplicationIf you have decided to join us in a mission trip, fill out a Volunteer application form and a Liability release waiver form, and mail to:
COMM International, Crossroads Committee Cathedral 1492 Silver Ln, East Hartford, CT 06118. Include a none refundable deposit of $100 to reserve your place with the team.

Airline ticket prices is a significant variable that affects the trip cost. The listed costs are estimates and may change depending on the actual ticket price.
Peru - $2,700 Nigeria - $3,400 Guatemala - $2,500
Volunteers may request sponsorship donations from friends, family and well-wishers. These donations are tax-deductible, and COMM International has a volunteer sponsorship letter to help individual members in this regard. Preparations MeetingsThe organization is interested in the spiritual growth of individual members and we meet regularly for fellowship, planning, and Bible study. Our meetings foster unity and a common purpose to serve God by helping others to expand His kingdom. It prepares us to better serve Him and to have a meaningful experience in the mission field. We encourage volunteers to participate but understand that many are unable to attend because of limitations imposed by distance.
Passports and VisaA valid passport is required for International travel. Renew your passport if it will expire in less than six months. If you have a US passport, no entry visa is required for Peru and Guatemala. However, an entry visa is required for Nigeria.
VaccinationsMake sure you have been vaccinated and are up-to-date with routine vaccinations including measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, polio vaccines and yearly flu shots. Hepatitis A Hepatitis B Typhoid

Mission fieldGuatemala is about the size of the state of Tennessee. It borders Mexico and Belize on the north, Honduras and El Salvador to the east, and stretches from the Pacific to the Caribbean. Overall, Guatemala enjoys warm days and cool evenings year-round.
The population is 18,466,831. Life expectancy at birth is 70.88 years [male: 69.03 years, female: 72.83 years]. Prevalence of HIV/AIDS: 0.8%. 80% of the population lives in poverty – 66% of those living in extreme poverty.
We encourage medical and non-medical volunteers to use their God given talents to help others. During yearly international medical missions, we hold free clinics, treating common medical conditions, and performing minor surgeries.

Our newly scheduled Medical Mission trip to Nigeria is currently on hold. The third Medical mission is our original yearly Medical Mission to Guatemala.
